What’s Happening

Apr – May 2012 Vision consultation paper is distributed to all households and businesses in the area. This includes a Questionnaire inviting community feedback. Website updated and Questionnaire is made available for completion online (click here to complete) Closing date is 15th May 2012.
Mar 2012 The vision consultation paper is presented and agreed at council meetings with Ascot and Sunninghill, and Sunningdale Parish Councils.
Feb 2012 A vision consultation paper is drafted.
Jan 2012 Around 30 members of the Steering and Topic Groups participate in a workshop facilitated by Design Council CABE to develop a Vision to shape our Neighbourhood Plan.
Jan 2012 A roadmap is produced for delivering the entire Neighbourhood Plan. Click on What happens next to find out more.
Jan 2012 Topic Group leaders join the Steering Group to facilitate better exchange of information and communication.
Autumn 2011 Topic Groups start meeting regularly and developing their agendas of key issues and priorities.
Oct 2011 Feedback from the launch event and results of the questionnaires are analysed and assessed and this community feedback helps to contribute to and refine the direction of Topic group work.
Sep 2011 Launch event takes place at Ascot racecourse with MP Adam Afriyie. Over 200 local residents attend and 120 initial consultation questionnaires are completed.More volunteers are recruited to join the four Topic Groups.
Summer 2011 First few local volunteers recruited to join the Topic Groups.  Steering Group plans and prepares a September launch event.
May 2011 Four Topic Groups set up with two facilitators. The four topic areas are:

  • Housing and the Environment
  • The Economy
  • Community
  • Transport and Infrastructure.

This website is launched.
Spring 2011 Written Constitution agreed. Steering Group and Topic Group organisational structure set up.
Jan 2011 Ascot and Sunninghill, and Sunningdale Parish Councils support the idea of developing a local Neighbourhood Plan. Local residents sign up as members of a Steering Group.
Nov 2010 The Royal Borough sets up a meeting with residents in Ascot, Sunninghill and Sunningdale to discuss whether there is interest in developing a Neighbourhood Plan for the area. People register their interest.
